GTX/ LTR Portable Error 06 code????

Post by N4RPD »

Have a GTX LTR portable that after the self test, the radio is getting an "error 06" on the LCD and then a continues loud error tone. The error started after loading the modified C/P back into the radio. I did not save the original C/P, my mistake, but don't know what the "error 06" means?

Does anyone know what this error code means?

Thanks.

Error 06 means corrupted codeplug. It can also mean the radio doesn't recognize the codeplug...such as if you try to put a SmartZone capable LTS2000 codeplug into a GTX...you'll be able to read & write to the radio afterwards, but it'll always show the Error 06 on the display and not work. You'd need to blank the radio with LAB, then re-initialize in order to get a 'default' codeplug back into the radio.

I blanked the radio with GTXLAB, the RSS is now saying it cannot load CP into radio because I must initialize the board. I cannot find an option to initialize in either GTXLAb or GTX RSS. Any ideas?

Use the regular GTX RSS and go into the service alignement menu. The RSS will recognize it as a blank board & let you into the initialization procedure.
