Motorola XTS 2500 & 5000 Info

Post by yardbirdjr »

Hello All!

I am looking for the option codes for the XTS-2500, XTL-2500 & XTS-5000, XTL-5000 Series Radios.

I just had some radios programmed and our system administrator advised me he could not program one system because we didn't have the right option in the radios.

He advised the radios needed to be Smartzone and they need to be Omnilink.

I would just like to have a complete list of all available option codes. This way when I order new radios I will have a better Idea of what options I need to ask for when I place an order.

Thanks

Flashcode feature options make up only part of the ordering process when buying an Expert Tier radio, such as the Astro25 XTS or XTL.

I'm assuming your agency is buying radios via a local dealer. It sounds like someone dropped the ball somewhere in the order process. The people that administer your system should be able to tell the dealer what features are necessary, even if the dealer can't. In any event, the dealer should be able to advise you on the complete set of available hardware and software options. If they can't, I'd be looking for another dealer.

Thanks for the options list.

Now to answer the next thing.

When the radios were ordered by our former chief. The chief was told by the system administrator that we would not need a radio that was capable of doing Smartzone and p25 digital trunking.

Well after the rados were ordered the determination was made that we would need these options after all. To late to cancel or change the order.

It has been a nightmare to say the least. Now I am looking at up to $500.00 bucks per radio to get the right options flashed, so we can be able to work off the statewide radio system.

Well thanks again

Its all software. When they come in, the local dealer can order the software and do the upgrade in the shop. Annoying, but not really a big deal.
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
