Need info on NTN7558A Astro/Saber Single slot Charger?

Post by kotaguchi »

Hi,

I recently acquired two Motorola NTN7558A single slot rapid chargers for the Astro/Saber series.

They look similar two to the NTN7209A enhanced Rapid Charger of the Jedi series.

Are these Saber chargers were the chargers that replaced the NTN4734 single unit rapid charger?Or are they cheaper versions?

Also, what chemistry did these chargers do?Ni-cad only,ni-cad and nickel metal hydride?

I don't get any info on search engines or Motorola website.

Any fast charger that will do NiCD will work satisfactorily for NiMH as well. Slow-only
chargers will not.

I had one of those strange chargers as well; couldn't find a reference for it anywhere. Best
guess I got from people on this Board that it was a European model. You're probably in the same situation.
Charger might have been intended for MX1000 series which uses same battery as the Saber line.

Thanks for all the info.I do like this smaller and slimmer model than the standard US rapid charge model.

Not if you do NOT leave it in the charger for longer than ever....

Any battery will 'cook' if left on charge, even a slow charge for ever.
