Spectra PL issue...HELP

Post by asmitty0010 »

I can't seem to get the Private Line option to work on my spectra (non astro). I put the proper RX PL on the channel I want it on and I'm still hearing another agency on that freq. I have the unmute rule set to standard/standard and I disabled the "coded squelch scan". When I turn "monitor off" via the keypad I still get radio traffic bleeding through. I thought maybe both agencies used the same freq and PL's but I know thats not the case because I have an ASTRO spectra sitting a foot from the spectra and the Private line works exactly how it should.

What am I missing in the Spectra RSS???

If your mic hub isn's grounded and you don't want to run a wire to it, in the RSS from the main screen w/ a loaded codeplug press F4>F2 and then scroll over to HUB SWITCH and set it for disabled. Then you won't need to ground the mic hub. It does override the feature that meets the FCC requirement to monitor a channel to ensure that the channel is clear before transmitting, but it will function exactly like you are wanting.

It is best to run a wire to your hangup box though.
