I have programmed two UHF SM50's to the same simplex frequencies and they communicate to each other no problem. My problem is when I program in TPL codes they still talk to each other but the squelch opens up on both to a hand held, same freq, with no TPL code. So I tried programming one sm50 with a TPL code and the other none. The SM with the TPL code still opens up, when receiving to the other radio with no TPL code. Am i missing something in the programming stage? I thought the TPL code would block open frequencies form opening the squelch. Any ideas?
Thankyou

Re: Sm50 TPL Problem
It sounds as if your radios are set for TPL transmit only with the receivers operating in CSQ at all times.

Re: Sm50 TPL Problem
Is that a programming issue or hardware?
