SM50 MDC-1200 option board

Post by kd8ake »

Does any one know where to get these things at? I have been looking all over the place and can't find any thing.
Do they exist? I know in the RSS it says for MDC to work you have to have the "option board" installed.
Any help would be appriciated

I don't know how much luck you'll have finding one of those... there are third party boards like Cimarron, but you'd have to weigh the cost of the board and programmer against getting a radio that does MDC natively.

OK. I kind of assumed that they where a little expensive if they where still around. I already have the radios and need MDC for a truck fleet aplication. Just figured I could regain some desk space back by using them. I appriciate your response.

Eh, I dont think there is a plug and play board for the SM50/120 series. That's a pretty plain jane radio.

you can probably get an aftermarket midian or cimmeron board and install them, though you will have to program them seperate from the radio.
