Pass signal

Post by wanabe »

Please forgive my novice question, but would a UHF Kenwood tkr 840 repeater pass an encrypted signal (with or without Dpl) from a Mot Saber with DES modules (non XL) to another identical secure Saber? I am still learning and have a long way to go. Thanks for your help. Will

Most repeaters won't pass Securenet 'out of the box'. You can try feeding the RX discriminator directly into the 'flat' TX audio, thus bypassing any filtering, possibly through a potentiometer to adjust for level, and see what happens. This works for Maxtrac based repeaters. I've read here that an MTR2000 can be made to pass TRBO audio in this fashion as well.
