NIMH Battery options for the JT1000

I'm thinking about buying a NIMH battery for my JT1000. I have the NTN1171A rapid charger, will I be able to charge NIMH batteries with this charger will charge or should I stick with Nicad Batteries ?

Depending on the battery manufacture NiMh batteries are available up to 3000 mahr that will charge in your charger.
That is twice the capacity of the high capacity OEM battery.

The OEM high cap battery is rated at 2000mAh and I've found that 2600mAh capacity is closer to normal when they are brand new. For part no. WPNN4013
