Spectra Page Channel??

Hello all,

Just curious if my idea will work. I want to have a motorola spectra in my house to use as my home paging device. Is it possible to create a channel like on a CDM1250 to stay muted until the proper 2-tone activates it like a Minitor Pager??

If so are ALL spectras capable or only certain models?

If I am understanding what your looking for, you want the Spectra to act as a receiver to decode a 2 tone
sequential page and provide some sort of alerting.

The best way to do that would be to add externally a 2 tone decoder that is fed off of the radio discriminator.

There are a few companies that have circuit boards that will decode the 2 tone sequential audio and provide
a circuit that pulls to ground a wire. This can then be used to ring a bell, set off a sonar alert device or
what ever makes you happy. To the best of my knowledge, the normal Spectra will not do this without
an option circuit board added to it.

Jim is correct. No QCII, two tone, decoder capability. The Spectra will decode Call Alerts, but they are MDC based.
