Post by SD70MAC »

I got the codeplug from the XTS5000 VHF m3 I am going to be getting from a friend and I cannot get the MDC or QC2 any channel. Is this an issue that the radio is not flashed for that option ? Here's the flash:

Neither QCII nor MDC are Flashcode options. An XTS5000 will do MDC with a Host of R03 and above, and QCII with a Host of R08 and above.. Your Host R12 has both covered. Go into your conventional personality, and click the signaling tab...

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

I don't know why I over looked that. I have a lot to learn about this radio version lots of options. I have been using the HT/CDM(2000) CPS for so long and this is so different. I still don't understand why M still only has 15 of 16 channels in the scan list just like OLD my MT2000,looks like for big $$$$ of the XTS you could scan at least 16ch. A cheap CP200 does 16ch.,but that's mother M for you.

Keep in mind, organizations purchasing most Motorola equipment don’t purchase portables and mobiles for the scanning capability.. That’s what a scanner is for, and not what an XTS5000 was designed to be used as, whether it be VHF, UHF or 800..
