Using an external modem with KVL3000+

I am trying to use an external modem with my KVL3000+ to update the KMF. The manual shows a 9 to 25 pin cable (CKN6324) to connect to the external modem. Does anyone know if this cable has "special" wiring or can I use a normal 9-25 with a 9pin gender bender?

Yes, a 9 to 25 pin cable with 9 pin gender bender works fine.
