MCS2000 Fail 01/82

Post by hazmat374 »

Hi all,

Whilst programming a second MCS2000 in the shed and moving gear around powering up / down the power supply my other MCS decieded it would go into the Fail 01/82 and i hadnt even touched the damm thing with a programming lead.

Have read alot of posts around on the net but so far not so good. I am using CPS R1.10.00. Have been looking around for the different lab stuff but no luck.

Have tried to clone the radio and it tells me the serial number is not in the database even though both the radio and file serial numbers much.

So tell me all, have i just made a expensive heavy paper weight?

All help much appreciated

Regards,

Adam

I am not sure why you are having the problems with your radio. I will say that the MCS2000 is very sensitive to
the voltage on the RIB while trying to write to the radio. If the voltage is slightly low, the radio will complain.

What rib are you using?
Is it powered by ac or batt?

I had the same prob with one of mcs2k and I shot my codeplug in with a polaris rib and got the same error

FIX: try to shoot the code plug in several times I think it will go Make sure you are using a MOTOROLA RIB BOX WITH A FRESH 9V BATT that fixed mine

best of luck

Uggh Polaris rib... Nothing but problems ... Use a Moto rib... If you have a saved codeplug dump it in and it should come back
