Flashing Firmware on XTL5000

Post by postal24060 »

I have several XTL 5000 radios w/dual heads that are in use by my agency and would like to update the firmware on these radios. I have programmed these radios but never flashed one.
Would someone be able to tell me what cables software etc. are necessary to flash this radio.
I do have the latest programming and tuner software and saw that I can download the flash from moto's bussiness site.
Thanks

The standard cable (USB if the radios are new enough firmware now, otherwise serial) and programming software is all you need. The flashes aren't downloadable - you'll need a refresh flashkey along with the proper CVN to update your radios. Your dealer should be able to help you out. Expect to pay $75/radio for firmware upgrades.
