Firmware Upgrade for Quantar????

Anyone have a approximate price on a firmware upgrade for a quantar? A local shop quoted me $1500.00, but I can't see that being right...

I know everyone's pricing is different, so I am just looking for an approximate cost.

Are you adding options or changing any hardware?

Pricing starts at $1200 and goes up from there. If the shop is doing it, $1200 + time may get you to $1500 just on a refresh and a PM.

NO, Not adding any options... Just a firmware upgrade....

Pager Geek... Our Quantars have Firmware Version 10 in them...

Has there been major updates to the P25 Audio Quality since Firmware Version 10?

Version 12 made a good improvement.
Are they conventional? or Intellirepeater?

Recent (about a year) non-IR is 20.14.038
Recent (about a year) IR is is 20.14.520

I'm sure more current is out.

How many stations are you talking about?

I have 3 Conventional Quantars running Digital with Version 10 Firmware.

Have you ever heard any issues with XTS3000 Subscriber units with the newer firmware (R07.70.00/DSPN 08.03.03) have incompatibility issues with Quantar Version 10 Firmware?

Let's start from the top:

Hi, I'm TPG, how can I help? I have a bunch of questions now...

Do you currently have mobiles and portables working DIGITAL on the repeaters? If yes, what are they and their FW?
Are these XTS3000 portables being added to the system, or have they been on it, and you just upgraded the FW?
Do the "new" XTS3000s work at all through the Quantar? or degraded / missing features?
Was the FW for the XTS3000s a legit bump, or back room deal? Have they been tuned? Were the flashcodes touched also?
If it's possible to send me a codeplug of one of the Quantars, that would be helpful.

Sorry to turn this into a repair thread vs how much thread.

The $1200 price is correct for a typical firmware refresh for just the software. Labor would not be included and YMMV on the hourly rates.
