Installing DTMF keypad on HT1000

Post by w1rc »

I am trying to install a new case with a DTMF encoder on my HT1000 but something is missing. I recall reading somewhere that in order for it to work it is necessary to modify the codeplug binary file with a hex editor but don't remember the rest.

Anyone know the rest of the story????

TIA,

There's an easier way than bit banging. I can't recall the programming sequence but there is a 'Special Programming Mode' in some of the RSS versions that allows you to enable the DTMF keypad.

Found it: RSS versions R03.01.01 or newer.
F4-F3-F2 from main menu goes to Radio Wide Screen
then press
Ctrl-Shift-F7 (all together)
opens special options screen
