Hey guys... I have one of them ebay specials on my desk.. Great looking radio.. but heres my problem. the copy of the CPS they gave me would not read in ANY of my computers... and I got a little impatent. I did some reading around and someone said that I could use the US waris codeplug editor to change the radio to be read by US CPS... well now im getting a codeplug error on the radio and I need help recovering the radio. I do have the proper CPS to program the radio now, however I obtained it AFTER I screwed the radio up sadly. So here are the numbers off of my radio..
TANAPA: PMUE1579A
Version Number: R07.06.030 #1571
Model Number: AZH25RDH9AA6
Super TANAPA: PMUE1579A
CMII ID: 99FJ0443
CAn anyone help me get this radio working again? $160 in this day in age is a lot to be throwing away. This radio seems like it would make a GREAT HT however I cant for the life of me get it to work. I have a RIB and the proper cable to program the radio as well.

Re: Motorola GP-380 UHF asian radio
Motorola usually refuses to service radios in countries where the radio is not sold, which would apply in your case probably. If they will by some chance then you're looking at another couple of hundred bucks to correct the screw-up in the programming that has occurred.
The cost of the correct CPS from Motorola will run you another $250 or so, assuming they will license it to you for use in the USA, which they might not.
In no particular order, here are several areas which bear investigating:
1. How is the RIB connected? To what port on the computer?
2. What's the source of the RIB and the programming cable? Bad aftermarket units abound these days.
Buying Motorola radios that are not supported in one's home country is most often a bad deal in both the short and long run. It's just not worth the hoops you have to jump through to get help.

Re: Motorola GP-380 UHF asian radio
thanks for the reply tom,
I do have CPS to program the radio now, and im using the proper cable connected to my RIB which is connected to com port 1 on my pc. I guess all Im needing is a good codeplug to load back into the radio... and hopefully it works.

I am sure someone out here has one of these exact radio's sitting on there shelf or desk somewhere. this is driving me nuts... IVe heard that this radio can be flashed into an HT1250 as well... can anyone verify if this is correct?? Im thinking about going on ebay and trying to get ahold of a motorola flash adapter for my RIB... all I Know is I dumped 160 bucks on this radio and refuse to junk it... it's brand new. Im just looking for the cheapest method on recovering this radio. so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks much.
