Adding a third console

Adding a third console
I have two Zetron 4010 consoles connected to a S66M punch block. I want to add a third console in parallel with the other two. Is there a 25 pair Y cable or an easy way to make the connections? Are 25 pair cables with connectors available in less than 10 foot lengths? Who is a good supplier for punch blocks and cables?

Re: Adding a third console
You cannot Y connect the consoles. You would be connecting the function inputs and outputs together like X Mute. Sure the audio paths would not care if the consoles where set up the same (IE: 2wire)
You need a 66 block for each console, the audio lines get connected pin for pin. X Mute input and output need to cross over or if the consoles are not located close together where you would get feedback you could leave them unconnected.

I am using 2 wire tone and extended local circuits. I have the two existing consoles tied to one punch block. I am using X mute on them.

Re: Adding a third console
You should still have 1 set of open clips on your current 66 block, they may be on the wrong side of the bridging clip but it would work if you punched the 3rd console down on the same block as the other 2. But you will need to build a Diode Matrex to allow all 3 to share and cross over the X Mute inputs and outputs. It's not the recomended method but it will work, I would much prefer a 66 block for each console with bridging clips so you could isolate consoles for troubleshooting, you would interconnect the blocks with cross connect wire. It woud also be alot simpler to punch diodes down for the X Mute.
The 2 wire tone circuits will work fine but keep in mind that only 1 should have 600 ohm termination (jumpers on card if I remember correctly) in place, the others should be set to bridge so they do not load the line down. I am not sure how the Local circuits work as far as termination so you should look in the manuals.
If this is a public safety system forget everything above and install 3 66 blocks as Zetron intended it to be installed.
