Questions on my Radius Mobiles

Post by NSterling1983 »

I have 2 motorola radius mobiles. One is a 16ch model number D44RA7PA5AK.... is this radio capable os MDC or transmitting a tone or a "squack" upon keying or un keying the mic?? Im using RSS version R08.00.00 part number HVN9173H. And I cant seem to find anything in it to enable or dissable this function.

My other mobile is a radius 2ch model number D34LRA79A5AK can anyone tell me by these numbers if my radio's are capable of such function?? or do I need a different logic board?

Thanks much.

Most older 2 channel mobiles are not capable of any type of signalling. I have 2 Radius M130's that do have MDC1200 capability, and they are only 2 ch. I have another that has an added board to give it rapidcall DTMF.

I have a 16 channel mobile that does not do signalling. It was expanded from an 8 channel with no MDC, I believe it was an M216 mobile converted to radius mobile.

It all depends on where you got the units from.

THanks for the reply guys. Im still ryin to get the hang of working with these older motorola radios. Im wanting to think that my radio will do MDC though cause they both have a number on the sticker that says MDC/DOC number... If this does not mean I can do MDC or get this radio's to transmit a tone when keying or un keying the mic... what are these numbers for then??
