Morning,
I have a XTS2500 with FPP options installed but have never played around with it till now. But my question is once you get all the information programmed into it with RX/TX and PL/DPL is there a way to save this information into a memory location? That way you don't have program it all over again for another frequency and such?
Thanks

Re: XTS2500 FPP question
When you exit the FPP mode, after you entered everything you want to enter, the radio saves the data automatically in the channel you started on. That's all there is to it.

Re: XTS2500 FPP question
Each channel assignment is automaticially saved to its corosponding conventional personality. You don't have to do anything special to "save it", but you do have to duplicate it for each channel assignment individually.
Just remember that the frequency/CTCSS/DCS/NAC information is now part of the channel assignment and not the personality like it was with the XTS3K/Spectra series radios so if you program with CPS it will look different.

Re: XTS2500 FPP question
Thanks for the information, I just wanted to make sure that I was doing things right. I am using the XTS2500 for Ham frequencies right now and I have heard that if you read it with the higher versions of the CPS you loose the FPP options. Don't know if that's true or not so if there is anyone that can confirm that?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: XTS2500 FPP question
Post the flashcode of your radio and the CPS version you're using and then someone can tell you what's with FPP etc. It can be complicated in some cases and has to do with the exact flash for FPP you have (there are two versions).

Re: XTS2500 FPP question
Take some time and search the board for "FPP".. There is more than enough info here to explain everything you'll need to know about FPP on Astro25 radios..laramiecountyCERT wrote:Thanks for the information, I just wanted to make sure that I was doing things right. Here is one hit from the search that should sum it up for you... http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.p ... hilit=+FPP

Stupidity creates job security!
If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..
CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Re: XTS2500 FPP question
Ok what I have for this one radio is this:
120001-000100-4
Which according to the website for flashcode decoding is:
D12 B1 Q806 Q806 ASTRO Digital Operation
D11 B2 Q52 Q52 Federal Government FPP
D7 B1 H35 H35 Conventional Systems Operation
D3 B1 Q53 Q53 FCC FPP And Radio Cloning
Hope that helps.
Thanks again for the information.
Sorry should have added that I have not been using CPS to read this or write it but had the local radio shop read it and I dont know what version they used but the FPP still works.
