Electrical tape cut out with a exacto knife would get you what you need. Cheesy but works.

Sorry guys, but I can't locate similar escutcheon on my Astro R case or on my old Astro Saber's frame.

Anybody can give me a more exact info about it location or just take a picture (better variant)?

Um, Astro Saber battery contacts aren't parallel like that. Got to fit some other radio. GARY N4KVE

Usually Moto parts bag like shown have a part # embossed. Size of cutouts and spacing reminds me of the side buttons on Mt1000/Ht600 type radios.

It IS for and Astro Saber. It is for the internal contacts that go to the FLEX PCB on the housing.

IIRC they put in a sheet of paper with the new housing showing where to place it. I'll see if I still have it, I have some new housings on the shelf.

It is called an Insulator, Battery and is part number 1405476Y01.

I got this info from my installation sheet included in my last refurb case I bought from escomm. Good suggestion by N7MAQ to check the sheet. I knew I still had mine.

From the sheet: (Empahsis is theirs)
Motorola wrote:The insulator 1405476Y01 (Included in this kit) is required for any Astro Saber Radio having the housing replaced and that has a 2705306W01 back shield. If this insulator is not properly installed there is a potential for a short within the radio.

You need this insulator if... the back shield part number below the PTT flex is 2705306W01 and you are replacing the housing. If this is the case you need to foloow the directions below. If this part number is different you may disregard these instructions.
The rest is just pictures/instructions telling how to install it, which is obvious to most after eyeballing it. I have a few extra, if you want me to send you one for a couple dollars. PM me for details.
Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why.
