HT 1000 squelch adjustment

Post by snjct2000 »

Greetings. Our agency is having several HT-1000's programmed this week. Is there a way to lower the squelch setting thru the RSS? Our radio guy is not the brightest but we have to live with what we have.
Also, I've seen in the F2 menu that there is an "ALIGNMENT" feature for RX/TX. Is this to allow the radio to have peak performance / sensitivity at a certain frequency area?
Many thanks in advance.

The alignment of the HT1000 including the squelch settings has been discussed here many times.

Without the proper test equipment, changing values in the alignment section can result in a very poor operating radio.

The HT1000 radio's squelch is set at different frequencies in the radios range, and the values stored in the radio's codeplug.

And if your system uses PL - which most do - the squelch setting becomes a do-not-care adjustment. Your rcvrs will open as soon as they decode PL independent of the squelch setting.
