CDM Rear Acc. Programing

Post by Dennis »

I have a remote mount CDM 1250. I've read all of the posts about programming the radio in a remote mount configuration. My problem is mine won't program thru the rear port. The cable adaptor is OEM Motorola. I'm using a serial port on the laptop, not a usb adapter. It does program when I put it back to a non-remote mount config., but that is a huge pain.
When I do program it, I use the same ribless cable I am trying to use on the rear and it works fine thru the mic port without the rear adaptor. The adaptor is brand new from Motorola, I don't have another radio to try it on to see if I got a bad one.

Any idea's?

Thanks in Advance.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

you're saying you are using a ribless serial cable to mic jack cable to program thru the front connector and to program thru the rear connector you are using the same cable but adapted to the 20 pin? does your radio need pin 10+ to power it up, if so add that to your programming cable. and just making shure, you are not trying to plug the same cable to program thru the mic jack into the remote mount adaptor right?
