Radius SP50

Post by rcschad »

I have an old Radius SP50 that constantly beeps while trying to transmit thus not allowing it to actually transmit. Does anyone know what this is from, is it a programming issue possibly. Thanks in advance.

If it's a constant tone that sounds for as long as you hold the PTT down might be programming as you suggest. A channel
that has been programmed in for receive only will do this.

I actually found the issue, it was because of the batteries. I have never heard a radio do that before. I know it does the two beeps at the end when a battery dies but it was constant throughout the whole PTT. Well, I guess now I know. Thank you.

I was actually going to say the batteries as well. Mine is doing the exact same thing. My battery has a date code of 2005, and on a full charge only lasts a few hours (just RX, so with some TX your looking at 30mins. at the MOST). I've ordered a new M battery for it, so that should fix the problem.
