SZ and CCGE resources

Post by Pj »

If someone adds a talkgroup from another zone as a resource on a gold elite console, can that cause the talkgroup to be heard on that zone even if no one else is affialated to the zone?

I wouldn't think so. The system is looking at subscriber affiliations and deals with consoles differently.

I would think if Zone 2 has a Zone 1 talkgroup on it's console and no users are affiliated on said talkgroup in Zone 1, the presence of the Zone 1 talkgroup on the Zone 2 console would not cause the zone to broadcast anything.

If the system doesn't see any subscribers affiliated on the zone, it shouldn't broadcast anything on that zone because it knows there isn't anyone there to receive it.

That's what I thought. There are certain low use tac and troop channels that I would have to assume are not monitored in the field at certain distant locations, but that I do know have been added as resources by the dispatchers.
