VHF PURC5000 transmit fault issues

Post by Sarge, USMC »

I've got a high power station here with an ASC, and I get no PA ON & PA FULL on ptt, therefore no output. I can put it in the service mode and see an output. IPA & DPA outputs test ok, and the PA is giving me full power in this mode, with all modules drawing about the same current as measured at the metering point with the test set.

PA Fault 1, which translates to no PA ON w/valid ptt request. So the ?? is what part of the big picture determines the status of the PA ON signal? The manual has a troubleshooting chart, but it don't jive with a station equipped with an ASC....it refers to a PA KEY signal this is N/A with the ASC apparently.

Where does the personality of this thing reside....in the ASC??

PURC 5000 stations with the Advanced Station Controls board have the personality in EEPROM on the ASC.

Check all connections between the PA and RF tray and see if something is loose/missing. Sounds like the PA metering isn't connected or something.
