XTS2500 Cable/Compatiblity Questions

Post by Tim »

Hi Folks,

Can I use my RIB & HT1000 cable to program the XTS2500, or
do I need a 'ribless' cable? (I have been programming with a
home-built cable & it works OK). It would be nice to have a
'real' cable.

Are all/most accessories for the HT1000 series compatible
with the XTS? (Including the MTVA)?

Thanks,

Tim

The mtsx/jedi/ht1000 cable is no good for xts1500/2500/5000 they need a usb or serial ribless cable. Buy Oem do not buy a ebay cable for that expensive a radio.

The mtva will not work, you would need a xtva
Public safety mics will not work.
Audio accessories and remote speaker mics will work.

Thanks for the info Batwings21, I'll order up the 'real' cable, as we just got
15 of these guys.

Glad I asked about the MTVA.. I had read somewhere that it was compatible with
the XTS. Was probably on E-bay! haha

Thanks,

Tim
