Flashing amber LED

Flashing amber LED

I just programmed my pager to silent scan and noticed that the amber led flashes slowly. I am guessing this is because it is in a scan mode? If that is not the case what other reasons would the amber LED flash.

Yes, it indicates scan.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

I presume we're discussing a Minitor V here, in which case, no, the flashing amber doesn't indicate scan. All of our pagers run in silent scan all the time (we're dispatched by two agencies) and they don't flash. The flash indicates channel traffic - however, in silent scan, if the pager doesn't detect a matching tone, it scans on to the other channel, virtually ensuring that traffic on channel 1 doesn't keep you from receiving a page on channel 2.
