Speaker audio control

Post by FMROB »

Hello all,

Have a fire truck pump panel mouned speaker connected to a cdm1250. I have seen in the past a volume control mounted right in the center face of the moto speakers. I looked around at rat shack and was not able to find any potenteometers over .5 watts. What do you guys use for this, any sources. I would like when that I can mount in the face of the speaker.

Thanks, Rob

I'm surprised RS didn't have an L pad meant for adjusting vol at a spkr. It's a high power wire wound pot. They tend to be a bit chunky. You won't be able to mount it in the face of the spkr, but you can put it in the pump panel or in a box next to the spkr. You wire the hi and lo sides across the spkr wire with the spkr on the center and lo.

BIll,

Radio shack has nothing anymore. And to boot the only electronics supply house in the area closed up about a year ago.. So it is mail order only around these parts. LOL.

I will order some from digikey or mouser. Thanks, Rob
