Help With Programming HT1550-XLS PC Software

does anyone know how to enable the mdc feature to show the ids of other units who transmit on mdc signeling?
also does any know how to enable fire pageing tones?

In order to receive & display the MDC IDs, all you should really have to do is choose MDC-1 as the signalling system under the signalling tab in the desired conventional personalities. This will also mute the annoying squawk of the data burst. If it doesn't mute it entirely, you may need to adjust the DOS (data operated squelch) timer in the MDC signalling system field.

For the fire tones, do you want to be able to send the tones, or have your radio act like a pager & give an alert when receiving them, or both?

i would like to have both for the tones if possible. also can you give me a little more info on the mdc display? i dont mind if the squak is muted but i would like to see the id on display. i have the software and cable to progam just alot of features to play with.

okay i got the mdc working and in DOS i set it to disable so i can here the mdc sound. now i just need to know how to do the pageing tones for the fire dept. i would like to send and recieve but anyway would be fine. if you have detailed directions please let me know, thanls

You realize you're not going to be able to have both systems on encode and/or decode on the same conventional personality, right?

no idea what you mean. i just want the quickcall 2 to work like a fire pager.

you can only have 1 signalling system per personality. so if you want to receive MDC IDs, you can't receive QCII tones. if you want to send QCII tones then you can't send MDC IDs

escomm are you sure on that because i recieve the quick call 2 tones and the mdc as well with out a problem. only thing is i cant transmit the quick call 2.

this is why im asking detail instructions on what to do here.

well sure you can receive the tones, but your radio isn't going to do anything with them (like alert you) if you have your receive system set up for MDC. if your channel is set up for MDC, well, you won't be transmitting QCII from that channel.

oh no i have the channel setup for quick call 2 for recieve and transmit. it does alert me i just cant seem to figure out how to make it transmit the tones. or how to add more then one tone for the channel. like two or four tones like the fire pagers have.
