Product Information
Orders for MTR2000 UHF base station/repeater will not be accepted after April 1, 2010. MTR2000 VHF and 800/900 base stations will continue to be sold
The new MTR 3000 UHF station is the replacement product for the MTR2000 UHF base station/
Receiver.

The cancellation impacts the following options tied to MTR 2000 main model T5544, T5766, T5731 & T5769.

Note: The MTR2000 UHF is not under Government Services Administration contract (GSA).
Replacement Product
The MTR2000 UHF band station will be replaced by the MTR 3000 UHF band station, Model T3000A and frequency options X340MT (403-470) and X540MT (470-524).
The MTR3000 UHF band station will begin shipping January 29th 2010.
Implications of Cancellation for customers
The MTR2000 UHF band station cancellation is effective in ALL regions (North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Israel) where product models and corresponding hardware options and accessories are sold.
Service Implications
Aftermarket Product support will be available for MTR 2000 UHF station best effort up to 7 years (4/30/2017) after cancellation through Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC).

Shouldn't be too much of a problem, the MTR3000 is just an MTR2000 with an add-on card to enable TRBO. It looks like the pricing will be similar between the two, although right now you can only order an MTR3000 with the 100W option. Not sure if they'll make the 1-40W option available later on down the road

I for one think this is one of Motorola's smarter moves, and I am looking forward to working with the MTR 3000 station as customers order them.

It will unquestionably be a "continuous-duty" TRBO machine.

I'm glad they went this route also, why fix what isn't broken. The only issues with the newer mtr's was that they lacked upgradeable beyond what they were today, new controller will take care of that.

It really only makes sense to go this way. You can bet as soon as the 3000 is available in VHF & 800/900, they'll take the same route.
