I searched for this subject, while it's come up in the past there were no definitive answers.
I have some MaxTracs that are 449-470MHz models and I'd like to use them around 438-440MHz. There appears to be NO deviation control below 440MHz, and the thing runs wide open. Even with the deviation softpot set at 0, I still get over 5.5kHz of AF deviation out of the radio.
Anyone ever come up with a fix for this?
UHF MaxTrac deviation control below 440MHz?

Re: UHF MaxTrac deviation control below 440MHz?
There is NO firmware provisions for control of the deviation, compensation or power control below 449 mHz.
Re: UHF MaxTrac deviation control below 440MHz?
Chris, I think the solution to that winds up removing the softpots and replacing them with a small PC mount potentiometer, and the levels get set the good old fashioned way.

Mel,
OK. That was going to be the next step. Thanks!
