ASTRO Spectra remote mount

Post by asmitty0010 »

Looking for some tips on converting a dashmount to a remote mount. What parts would I need? I have a left over Spectra remote front plate and interconnect board...would this work on an ASTRO spectra? Would part number 1580293L02 get me everything I need for the back of the control head?

I don't know how many of your parts are useable, but I found that Motorola sells a kit, H1527A, to modify the low/mid power Astro Spectra to remote mount. This kit is not shown in the P&A catalogue, but in the sales manual. Not cheap, but available.

If you do not need to load keys, Normal Spectra parts work fine on an Astro Spectra.

Quite some time ago we ordered 100 radios for the Gas Dept. They were a fifty fifty split between dash and trunk. It ended up that most were installed as trunk mount. We converted the dash mounts using Spectra parts on hand and they worked fine.
