GP300 scan locking? or not?

Post by kb2cxj »

my vhf gp300 scans fine. but is doesn't really lock on signal. when it stops on a signal, it seems like it lets go and locks every time the lite blinks. anything pointing to priority is off on the radio. still it seems to be scanning while it should be locked on the incoming signal. is there any way to just set it up to lock on the incoming signal till the carrier drops ? the blinking noise will make me nuts!! it's why I take my saber with me and leave the gp300 home.

The scan function and more precisely, the HOLD function, is setup to stop and remain on channel 'X' for XXX seconds, when you select the scan hold feature in the RSS.

This hold time is for keeping the radio on that scanned channel for a specific time AFTER the carrier drops, then it resumes scanning once more.

I don't have my RSS machine running, so I can't tell you exactly what to do, as I rarely have to touch a GP300/P110.
