HT1250 warm to the touch???
just below the 6 button keypad
the front of the case is warm about
9-11 warmer then the rest of the radio
any ideas????

If you've got a 7.5V supply that's metered and a battery eliminator, you can check the idle current drain with the switch off and on - when off, it should be zero or very close to zero and when switched on in idle mode(no receive or tx), it should draw 30-50 ma. Anything more than this would indicate (likely) either a defective RF PA or audio output amp. This assumes that noone has reset the RF PA bias with the tuner so that it's much higher than normal(100 ma.).

There was a problem with some HT1250 handhelds having the pa stuck on them, they will more than likely draw the battery down very fast. Do some searching on the board here, this was brought up before, but the radio needs sent to the depot for a repair if the front case stays hot without transmitting
