I currently have CPS version 6.02.05. Since that is the newest I have, what is the newest firmware I will be able to program? I know I will have issues with the 5.11.xx stuff but will the 4.00.01 work with this CPS?
Thank you for the help.

Re: HT1250 CPS / Firmware Question
I guess my big question is can I read/write a radio using CPS 6.02.05 with firmware 4.00.01? It has been read with a newer CPS 6.09.06 I think. Will that affect my ability to program this unit. It is for HAM use but I dont want to sink $500 on a radio that I wont be able to work with.
Many thanks for any help.

The last version CPS that was used to program it will decide whether or not your CPS will read/write to it. If it's been programmed with CPS newer than what you have, then no, you won't be able to read/write to it.. Firmware doesn't have much bearing on the subject, as there are different ways that firmware can be loaded into a Pro radio. Certain methods alter the codeplug version, and some do not. The only way to really tell is to try and read the radio, or just purchase current CPS from Motorola.

Stupidity creates job security!
If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..
CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.
