Help programming MDC1200 on conventional XTS5000
I was wondering if any of you knew anything about programming MDC1200 on the XTS5000 model II UHF flashed for conventional. I'm having a little trouble. I am using an XTS5000 UHF conventional setup and want MDC1200 to transmit on only certain channels and not all. But it only seems to let you program the radio to transmit the MDC1200 ID on all the channels in the radio. I don't know if i'm missing something in the CPS. Does anyone know anyway to change this?? Any help you can give it greatly appreciated.

You have to attach a personality with MDC to each of the channels you want it on.

Could you tell me how to do that?
Re: Help programming MDC1200 on conventional XTS5000
1) Define your "MDC System." Parameters include primary ID, group ID, pre-, post- or both-ID.
2) Define a "conventional personality" to be used with those channels that are to use MDC. Under "signalling," point to the MDC System you defined.
3) In the channel screen, for the channels to use the MDC, point to the conventional personality that points to the MDC System.
That answers what you asked. Now, hoping you'll take this as constructive advice and not be offended, I'll answer what you didn't ask:
Radio programming of high level Motorola subscriber equipment in general, and MDC systems in particular, is a tad abstruse. The questions you've asked reveal that you've not had the training or experience that you should have in this area to be programming these radios, a likely consequence of which is making mistakes that can screw up the system. I suggest you consult with a professional radio tech.
