cdm1250 ext mic programming help!

Post by jmr3865 »

Hi all,
Working on programming a cdm1250 to tx from a mic hooked up to the accessory connector and a speaker also hooked up. I have the speaker working no problem, however, it will not recognize the mic. The lights do not light up on the dtmf mic, nor does it tx. I am wondering what I have to program in the cps for this to work. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am not sure about a DTMF mic but when I did it with the rugged mic all I did was wire it in and it worked.

You should be using pin 2 on the accessory connector for mic high. Pin 7 is the audio ground. PTT is
on pin 3.

If you get it to TX but have low TX mic audio, you will have to go into the software and make a change.
Open the RADIO CONFIGURATION tab.
Go to the MICROPHONE tab.
Set the ACCESSORY MIC GAIN to a higher number. I have a low output mic so use +45 db.
Make sure the EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCE is set to EXT MIC AUDIO.
Go to the ACCESSORY PINS tab.
Make sure that PIN 3 is set for EXTERNAL MIC PTT (INPUT) selection.

Save the changes back to the radio. You should be good to go.
