VHF MTS2000 Codeplug

Post by cjrd1993 »

ok..here goes:
I was a fool and bit on what I thought was a good deal on a VHF MTS2000. What I got was a Euro version PJ301D with a model H01KCD9PW1AC. Whoever owned this before tried to shoot a UHF codeplug into it thinking it would make it a UHF radio. The result is the radio will not pass the first check and the screen (model 1) says TMF 1. I have R02.02 CPS and it reads the radio showing a UHF model number and UHF freqs. Can anyone tell me if I found a codeplug for a VHF with the original model number and programmed the radio with it if that would save the radio, or should I just consider this parts and count my losses? Not to worried as I only paid $55 for it on Ebay.

If you have the original codeplug for the radio, open CPS and rewrite that codeplug back to the radio, but the only way it may work, is if the codeplug actually matches the radio's original configuration, no additional features.
You can't make the radio decode MDC if the firmware(if flashport) wasn't supported in the original codeplug data programmed by the factory.

$55.00 if a bite, but a good learning tool about radio programming and the hazards of ebay buying(yuck).

CPS will not work for what you need. I have had a few MPT1327 MTS2000's and had one converted to a MT2100. I don't know if your unit was an MPT1327, but you may still be able to convert it over. I don't know if you will ever get it to take a domestic codeplug due to the firmware.

Hopefully Andreas will see this and have a good answer for you.

I tried all I can think of. The CPS will only program to the radio if the model matches. I talked to mother M and found that this is now a brick. The radio now "thinks" it is a H01RDD when it is really H01KCD9PW1AC. The sticker also says PJ301D. I assume that is the Euro type number. It says it is made in the EC. It's housing parts now. Oh, got a nice antenna and battery too. For $55 I expected the worst anyway.
Regards,
Jeremy
