Syntor X programming question

Post by cahighwayman22 »

I have a Low Band Syntor X, and i've been using the Sprog II 19 program to setup the freq's mix of 42MHz, and 6 meters. After I program the 2816 EEPROM with a programmer, the radio doesn't appear to recognize the eeprom, and the unlock light is lit. What am I doing wrong? The radio works fine with a 2816 that was programmed with a R1801A suitcase.

It's probably because the output image file that you are generating in sprog doesn't match the input selection file of your eeprom programmer.

I had to play around with it a few times to get it correct, in fact when I was figuring this out I made 2 eeproms to speed the process, one was generate INTEL hex and the 2nd was binary and only by marking each prom and then swapping them was I able to figure this out.

For instance I use a ModEP eeprom programmer and when I generate the output file for the EEPROM programmer I select 'binary' in Sprog generate image file menu and then in my eeprom programmer I make the same choice.

Could it be cuz i'm selection the wrong injection? Like High Injection, or low Injection. Whats funny is I programmed an eeprom for a VHF Hi band Syntor X (creating a Binary file) and that works perfectally.
