There are tabs in the personality to tag channels as either trunked or conventional.

Simply open a conventional personality, add frequencies with the green + icon, and keep adding.
Once you add all your channels, open the personality assignment to zone tab at the bottom, there you will be able to assign your channels to either trunked or conventional operation. It will show up under the ZONE tab.
Now in the LIST tab, you will see all channels you have previously entered....Here you can arrange their order as they will appear on your display.
You do not have to maintain numerical order, and can swap locations as you see fit.

Once these changes are made, you can open the SCAN LIST menu and assign the channels in the order you wish.

This is a short list of what you can do, but once you start working with the CPS, you will soon know how to navigate it and perform work-arounds with ease.

The firmware of the LS series will not allow MDC on conventional channels, as the mask isn't set for that purpose, the LS series was designed as an LTR radio primarily, with conventional operation as a side benefit for those needing T/A or conventional repeater to access.

My LS portables respond to MDC as well as QC-II calls to my radio, but I can activate MDC and QC-II only if I am in an LTR environment.
And this is set up in the personality through checking specific boxes, like transpond, group call Etc.

I also wish the LS series would decode MDC as well, but no.

Pretty feature poor model actually, but they do have their uses I suppose.

I am trying to program some 1250LS+ radios with conventional only personalities. When I power the radio back on I get all the channels ok on the top rotary control knob, but when I get to the 1st conventional personality, which is the priority channel, it jumps back and says 'UNPROGRAMMED' I have a trunked personality programmed but do not have it accessible. What am I missing here? I can send someone my codeplug to look at if you'd like.
