MTS2000 w/ VHF Trunking

Post by Brandon314159 »

Hey all,

Just read a radio had here sitting on my desk for a couple years. Got bored and built the cable to hook to the RIB :)

Anywho, was surprised to find VHF trunking personality programmed into it. Here in the PNW, didn't think VHF trunking was so popular. By the looks of it, radio hasn't been in service for 4+ years.

Anyone have any ideas what was VHF trunking around these parts? Some of the input channels are inside the 144-148Mhz ham band.

Confused.

Thanks for any education. :-)

This question is probably more germane to some place like Radio Reference.

I will say though that if there were inputs inside the ham band, that it was probably someone trying to illicitly monitor a trunking system, and guard against accidental keyups. Obviously this would be a no no...

That sounds weird.
Likely someone has been playing around with the programming.
I SERIOUSLY doubt there is anybody really playing with trunking in the two meter band.
Might be some VHF trunking in BC, but not using Ham freqs.
Post anything you find, that would be interesting.
