MCC future trbo interface?

Hi,

Did not see any specific info on the model number of any Motorola consoles that might be up and coming
that would allow the interface of say a Mototrbo capacity plus, directly to it without going through an interface. I have looked at,maybe not intense enough,one the info for MCC series consoles. Any thoughts.
I cannot believe that the big M would push this new line of repeaters without future expansion for their consoles.

I might be missing what you are talikng about, but you can interface a TRBO radio in digital or anaglog to a console with using a tone remote.

Right, yea I understand that, but I mean a Motorola console that work without an interface. Or maybe that is the wrong direction, maybe I should say on the Trbos end instead, that it would have a suitable link obviosly in analog.If I understand this right, in digital
mode you would have a digital output which of course would sound like "noise" to a dispatcher.

Ok, I understand what you are talking about. It will work either way, in digital or analog. The radio converts the digital audio to regualr analog audio in the rear accessory connector. So, If you connect the TRBO mobile to a tone remote or BIM the dispatcher will listen to clean, analog audio and will transmit into the tone adapter to the radio at which point it will be transmitted onto the TRBO system as digital audio. I would assume that you could even change channels or talk groups, and trigger some telemetry events.

The caveat would be not knowing unit ID's as nothing available in button and light console world understands TRBO language, and not being able to decode emergency in TRBO.

My understanding from the mcc console group and the trbo presale support group is its going to be a software interface between the 5500 and a trbo control base. Now we can do audio and channel steering, but no advanced features, ie unit id emergency texting etc. That stuff will be added with the interface at a to be determined date, they are working on it.

Don't forget about the requirement on the DAP gen II cards, they require an iButton for digital operations, just like P25 systems.
And DAP Gen I cards do not have iButton options, only the Gen II does, so you have to configure the MCC5500 for those options in the main menu drop downs.

The CAB doesn't care, tap audio from either port of the RECORDER function if possible.

When I set up the multi-console installation in Florence, the only digital options were about P25, nothing in the big blue binders stated anything about TRBO operations, but this was over a year ago......Maybe some good came from this finally.

No, there is no Trbo interface yet. However both groups have admitted to our engineers and sales manager that they are working on one. They will not give any details though. The i-buttons addons give you the option of connecting a astro consolette, a mcs2k, a cdm1550xls or a dimetra radio via sb9600 control. I'm pretty sure the Trbo's do not do sb9600, but they are natively an IP device. I would think a Virtual Control Head type software add on would be the way they go. The you use tone or local control for the audio.

There are various remoting / console solutions available from Motorola approved "ISV's" (Integrated Solutions Vendors). TurboVUi is one that comes to mind:

I've only seen the 'solo' version on display at roadshows, but the 'dispatch' version looks to hold some promise.
