XTL5000 Dual O5 Control Head issue

Post by Pogmothon »

I have VHF XTL5000 which I would like to have dual control heads on. I set dual heads up in the CPS with one active and assign a F/R menu option, but when I connect the second control head I receive "CH ID # ERR".

Does anybody know what "CH ID # ERR" means?

Thanks

You need to set the control heads ID, this is done by putting the mobile radio in FPP mode. Hold the home button and the orange emergency button while powering on the head, set the head appropriately (up to 4 heads). There is more info on the help file in CPS

Worked Great, next question Can one use an 05 and 03 Control Heads in a dual control configuration of an XTL5000- if so how do you enter into FPP mode on a 03 Head?

No, you can't mix O3 and O5, and the FPP mode is only for assigning the CH ID for multiple head operation, it's not the typical FPP we have become accustomed to with the portables.
