GP380 UHF

Post by w6qe »

I have a Motorola GP380 UHF radio that is supposed to go up to 470 mHz. How can I get this radio so it will go as high as 485 mHz?
I have the CPS software, and use it with my GP380 VHF radio.
Please guys, I'm new at this, so please be gentle.
Thanks,
Milt.

I don't think you can really do that. The two problems you will see are: 1) The band edges are hard coded into the firmware, hex editing the CPS won't change them, and 2) even if you could, 15mHz above the rated limit will not play well with the components in the radio, 10mHz is really as high as you can reasonably go on a modern Motorola radio.
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.
