XTL5000 W9 dual control heads
We have a problem that has developed here at Birmingham Fire and Rescue. Our rescue ambulances have XTL5000's with dual W9 control heads-one in the cab and one in the patient care area. Somehow while one of the ambulances were at the local Ford dealership for an unrelated issue a cable was disconnected and the remote head in the patient area does not come on. The unit in the cab has the control head built onto the radio. The unit in the cab displays "REMOTE" whereas the patient area unit usually displays that and the cab unit usually displays the channel information. The guy at the municipal garage that usually handles these things is on vacation, and the Ford dealership refuses to pay the local Motorola shop to repair it. The chief says if its a cable have the fellas down at the garage fix it but the grease monkeys aren't sure which cable is what. Any ideas?

Re: XTL5000 W9 dual control heads
My first guess is that some dummy pulled the control cables off the radio along the way. Then put one back
on and put it in the wrong connector. Try and make sure both control cables are plugged in at the radio.
