XTS3000 Voting Scan Help

Post by wolfofoblivion »

Hello all,
I am having some trouble configuring a voting scan list for my XTS3k. I have created a Scan List and set it to Voting Scan and included the three channels that need to be voted. On the personalities that correspond to those channels I set the scan list selection to the proper voting scan list and turned on automatic scan. The RSSI threshold is at 57 (default).

The problem is that with all these settings applied, voting scan does not work. I turn the radio on and put it on the channels that are in the voting scan list and the radio does not scan them. It will receive traffic on the channel that is selected, but does not vote across the three. The scan icon does not appear and when the monitor button is pressed a buzzing sound (similar to the sound of a digital transmission) is heard. I have programmed Voting Scan into an Astro Saber using the same method with no problems, so I am really at a loss here.

I have tried just about everything I can think of to get this to work, and have had no success. Any ideas?

Radio Info:
FW: R07.11.00
DSP: N08.02.06
Flash: 599108-1C5E00-1

CPS is R05.03.00

On Voting scan, there is no scan icon on the screen on the 300 and the display does not change to the voted channel like the Jedi/sabers do. I thought the same thing as you. I am not sure why Moto did this as it seems pretty confusing, but it is just the way it is.

It "looks" from a glance like you have it set up right....

Thanks

Aha, so the trick is that it's working secretly. It seems absurd that Ma M didn't set this up just like the Astro Sabers, where the display would show the voted channel and scan symbol. Weird. Thanks for your help, I thought I was going out of my mind!

[edit]: It looks like this only works with the RX set to CSQ. Otherwise the radio will not unmute for some reason...

What level do you have your RSSI voting threshold set to?

A low value will vote faster...IE: A9 should be 'faster' than 9F.

Best to try several settings to determine what works best.

I hadn't changed the RSSI settings, it was still set to the default (57). I'll try some new settings, like A9.

Thanks!
