"Federal Licensing" Company At It Again

Post by Bat2way »

Received a call this morning from a customer that I had recently filed an FCC license application for. He stated "I received a letter from the FCC..." and you know the rest of the story. After explaining the scam to him he said he almost sent it through to be approved for payment but called me to check on it. Back in the day I would receive a call about the 3 scam license companies weekly. Makes you wonder how many applicants out there fall for this? I told him to expect a few more in the coming weeks.

Probably not a bad idea to write down their contact info and forward to the FCC, although who knows if they care enough to pursue it...

Every time I file anything with the FCC, a few days later I get a call from the office asking if they should issue a P.O. for the bill we just received. The answer without even looking at it is always toss it in the trash.

Last time I ordered something from them (about 10 years ago) I ordered a copy of the current FCC regulations. It arrived without the secton covering UHF "T" Band. Guess what frequencys I had made an appllication for, you guessed it "T" band.

I called them and they said they do not have a printed copy of the "T" band regulations but I could call them any time with questions. I asked if the FCC could call them when they wanted to see my station records during an inspection. Wound up returning what they sent me for a refund.

It's a scam but at least the mailing does say they are not a government agency if you look hard.
Cause Motorola said so that's why

We just got a 'notice of renewal' from them... for a license that expires in 3 years!
