XTS5000 QC II Trouble

Post by hightech_sodbuster »

Thanks for looking and any help.

I have a XTS5000 m3 and I'm having trouble with my QC II. First let me explain our dispatch system. We have two fire departments in our county. Department A pages out on a simplex channel and department B pages out on county repeater. The tones are the same for the two departments. Channel 1, personality 1 is set-up for quik call II. If I set channel 1 to recieve department A it works fine. If I set Channel 1 to recieve department B through the repeater, it does not open up the carrier. I have used another XTS5000 to test mine and it opens the carrier and works fine. Also used the same XTS5000 on some older pagers and it opened the carrier just fine. All I change on channel 1 is the RX Freq. When I have it set for the county repeater, I hear no audio. When I press the PTT it opens carrier and I hear normal dispatch. On Personality 1, under signaling is QC II,under QC II I have selective call decode, unmute type is AND, Selective call Encode. In QC II system 1 call format is A-B. What is the differenece in A-B and A-B\long B? If they page an A-B\long B and I'm set to A-B will it still work?

What is the host/dsp of the radio? Should always post this when dealing with these types of radios.
