CCII Crossmutes

Post by KE9GK »

Looking for info on how to configure simple crossmutes for 2 OP positions. Nothing fancy like multiple resources...just the one that is XBUSY. I have 2 co-located OP positions, both recently outfitted with boom mics, which is now causing a real problem with feedback when one console's speakers are turned up and the opposite is talking. I know there is a way to mute the opposite console..but I'm not sure where that needs to happen. All my BIMS have LOBL cards on them...all the OPs XBusy correctly...i just need to knock the TX audio being passed to the other OPs down about -45db. I don't remember there being a place in the CCII RSS for this....but I could have missed it....I think I remember something about the AUX I/O cards above the BIM's being responsible for this...but I cant remember anymore.

I would welcome any/all assistance with this.

Thanks

Gosh, this goes back a while for me. I assume its a standard Centra Com II console (with eproms). There is an acoustic cross mute, which will keep channels from talking to each other. There also is a console to console mute I believe. We had 4 of these in the same room, with the boom mic plus headsets. I'd have to pull the programming manual to confirm this. Its been years. I wonder where it is now??? The older Motorola consoles had wires that muted the channels between operators. Seems to me there are programming functions that were Omi in nature - I believe thats where the mutes are.
I can't seem to find the CC programming book. I suppose I could talk you throught this, if you called me and told me what you saw on your screen.

PM me.

In previous posts KE9GK has stated: "it is a BLN1170 TOMI EEPROM setup".

This means that the console is actually a CCII+.

Cross mutes for this console are entered through the op position keypad using diagnostic 18 to modify the acoustic cross mute table [position to position] and diagnostic 19 to modify the RF cross mute table [channel to channel]

The instructions are found in the Maintenance and Diagnostics section [6881073E88] of the CCII Trunking / Plus documentation set.

His issue should be simple to resolve.

Simply enter diagnostic 18. The clock display will change to show: "Addr". Then enter the slot address of the position whose audio is to be muted. The display should show XX CPL or XX UnCPL where CPL is crossmuted.

Press the "1" key to toggle the status. Then press the "0" key to save your change.

Done. No PROMs - no programmer.

XMO is correct - It is a CCII + sorry should have specified.

XMO that is exactly what I am looking for. I remembered there was some way to set that feature up...just couldn't remember how...completely forgot about the Shift D programmable features. Thanks so much! I will try this tomorrow and get back to everyone once I am able to get to the console and try it out.

Thanks all for your help with this!
