XTS3000 TUNING
I had an xts3000 that I used as a scanner to monitor my local law enforcement. It was stolen from my car, so I bought a new one here on the board. I cloned the old info to the new radio, and it took fine. Now, the new radio is always saying "out of range". When it isn't out of range, I only hear one part of a conversation between dispatcher and officers. I have been told it might need tuned. I am no expert, but I would think the same model radio with all the same options in the cps would operate the same. I never had this option with the old radio. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!
Re: XTS3000 TUNING
Turn off the "out of range"indicator in the CPS..Its a indicator for trunking systems.

To turn off the "OUT OF RANGE"indicator, under CPS,Radio wide, general tab, there is a box for Out of Range indicator, select.no indication.

Re: XTS3000 TUNING
All of the frequencies were trunking. I didn't actually clone them, I retyped everything. I have double checked everything, and it all matches.
Re: XTS3000 TUNING
There is a possibility that the frequencies that you were using have been rebanded. That means that the channels are not there anymore, but moved to new
channels. You should probably go to the radioreference.com site and verify that your using the correct frequencies.
The other thought is that the radio has a problem. The display of "OUT OF RANGE" is telling you that the receiver can't hear the control channel your telling
the radio to look for. This could be an internal problem with the circuit board or a programming problem of fat fingers, or it may even mean the control channel
really isn't there and has moved. This message is trying to tell you something. Pay attention to it.
I have to read between the lines here and assume that being a trunking system, you have the correct system keys to be able to program the radio with.

Re: XTS3000 TUNING
Everything is correct per radio reference.
Re: XTS3000 TUNING
Perhaps you shouldn't be using a radio to monitor a trunked system that you are not suppose to have access to...
